Island Boat Lettering - Instructions on the Application

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

You will need the following:  Ammonia or Acetone, Spray Bottle, Dish Washing Liquid and a Squeegee (supplied)

Application should not be attempted if temperature is below 55° Fahrenheit.
All surfaces must be cleaned using Ammonia or Acetone to remove any wax or rubbing compound.

1. Once area has been cleaned, in the spray bottle, mix a solution of
1 tablespoon dish washing liquid to 1 pint water. Generously spray the area where lettering is to be applied. Do not wipe off this solution.

2. Place lettering face down on a clean, flat surface. Peel away the protective waxed paper backing. Be sure that the vinyl lettering stays adhered to the translucent transfer sheet. Note: Lettering will be very sticky, be certain the ends do not touch each other. This should not be attempted on a windy day.

3. While the area is still wet, place the lettering in the desired location. The soapy water will allow you to move the lettering around until you get it into place. Starting from the center, use the palm of your hand to gently rub the lettering from the center out in all directions.

4. Using the squeegee provided, continue to squeeze out the excess water using the same method described in step 3. Repeat this process until all water and air is removed from underneath lettering. Allow lettering to dry completely (approx. 30 minutes).

5. Slowly peel off the translucent application sheet. The vinyl lettering will stay adhered to the surface. Note: If the lettering is not sticking to surface, repeat the squeegee process and let dry longer.
