I am on the left in the back
row in the vest. My son Dan is in front of me in the red cap. My other son,
Dave, could not make the trip. This was taken
on a fishing trip to Canada several years ago. Also shown are Bill and his
son, Rob, along with our guide, George. This was our "shore lunch" break.

About me:
I was born October 22, 1945 in Chicago, IL and
have lived in the Chicago area all my life. I have been fishing for
over 50 years.
I am a Bass Fisherman at heart but has fished for
Walleye, Northern Pike, Crappie, and Panfish. There was a period of time
when I saltwater fished, catching Tarpon (a prize mount), Shark, Snook, and
Tuna.
I live in the suburbs of Chicago in an area which
has 3 ponds. Only residents can fish there and one of the ponds is
restricted to only those that live on the pond. On nice days, I am off
fishing for Bass in those two ponds. My record Bass from these ponds is 9
lbs 5 oz. I believe the new Illinois State
Record is located in the pond and I continue to fish for it. Mostly the Bass
are in the 1 to 4 pound class.
The Illinois State Record Largemouth
Bass is 13 lbs 1 oz, caught on 2/15/1976. I do have hopes for the record.
Geese inhabit
these ponds and often harass the fishermen. They attack a lure while in
flight. At least once a year, I hook one of the geese. That is not pretty,
nor fun.
I always "Catch and Release". The one
Tarpon was my only exception. |
