Plastic Worm & Lizard Tips
|
These tips should help you catch more bass using
plastic worms or lizards.
-
Rib worms and rib lizards hold more scent,
move more water, feel softer and protect your hook from getting
snagged.
-
Small lures like the 4 inch rib worm or lizard
penetrate grass or brush better than large worms.
-
When bass are high in the grass, use a light
sinker.
-
When bass are buried deep in the grass or
brush, a Texas rig will penetrate the cover better than a
Carolina rig.
-
Flip or pitch a Texas rig right into the heaviest
brush you can find.
-
If your bait feels heavier than it should
or it feels kind of mushy, jerk. Jerk hard.
-
When flipping or pitching, watch your link
as it sinks. You will see the line jump if a bass picks it
up. You can also tell how deeply your lure has penetrated
the cover.
- When fishing boat docks, get your lure right against the piers
then just shake it. Keep it tight against the cover.
- A quiet boat and silent entry will catch more bass when flipping
or pitching.
- When you feel your worm cross over a limb or heavy grass,
stop it and let it fall. It may fall into a hole where the bass
lives.
