Do scents work? Probably. I will use whatever I
can get to have better bass fishing but consider what a chemist
says.
Bass attracting scents are oil based and do not
mix with water. They form an oil slick on top of the water. The
plastic used to make plastic worms or plastic lizards is also
oil based and does not mix with water. Both the scent and the
worm plastic repel water strongly. Just how much of this water
repellent material is actually in the water for fish to smell
or taste? The answer is not much.
You can get a far greater effect from scents if
you add them to your worm yourself. A few drops will coat enough
worm or lizard and make the scent much more effective. The scent
if much more likely to be available for the bass to notice it.
The best worms to use are those with ribs like RIB
LIZARDS or RIB WORMS. The ribs hold the scent better. It really
does make sense of scents.
